Inaugural LIT Film Festival Awards

Congratulations to all involved in the LIT Film Festival.

Well done to LCFE EMTV learner Anthony Cross who scooped two of last night’s awards at the inaugural LIT Film Festival Awards at the Millennium Theatre. Anthony won awards in the Best Script and Best Factual/ENG Video category.

The event in its first year was open to students from Limerick Institute of Technology, Limerick School of Art & Design and learners of the Limerick College of Further Education only, (however in year two it is planned to include students from second level institutions in the mid-west region and in year three to the general public).

The judging panel consisted of members of the professional media industry, who represented both technical and non-technical areas.

Also there were industry professionals asked to give talks or workshops to students on current work practices and industry standards as well as discussing new technologies and equipment.

All the video entries were played in a dedicated viewing room during the day with the awards ceremony, taking place that evening.

Sony Professional UK were the main sponsor and there was a Sony Independent Certified Expert present on the day , who gave a workshop on the latest equipment and recording formats for the students.

Spin Southwest’s Michelle McMahon presented the awards night itself, and special guests were on hand to present individual awards in each of the catorgories.

Sponsors included: Sony Professional UK, MKP Productions, Limerick Co-ordination Office, and Applebox Media Ltd
