Today I attended the seventh ICT in Education Conference hosted by Tipperary Institute. This year’s theme was Storytelling in Education.
During the 2011 ICT in Education Conference, several master storytellers shared their experiences and insights in the day-long event.

This was followed by Ciarian McCormack who gave a talk on preparing our teachers for the storytellers of tomorrow.

After the opening speakers there were workshops from Simon Lewis – Join the Twitterati: a guide to getting started on Twitter. There was a workshop on Game Based Learning in Virtual Worlds from James Corbett and Margaret Keane etc.

A Student’s Perspective on ICT in Education
Tommy Collision’s Workshop – A Student’s Perspective on ICT in Education. Tommy gave some great insights as to how students can use digital tools to help them to revise for exams and to manage their school year. These can be found on his website TrustTommy.com/ict
Film in the Classroom – Use and Production
The workshop was lead by Shane Egan who introduced teachers to concepts of filmmaking for the classroom, he also showed how tools such as comiclife could be used for storyboarding and Celtex could be used for scripting films.
Literacy and Storyelling with the ipad 2 – A Hands on Workshop for Teachers – Ciaran McCormack
Ciaran outlined the uses of the ipad for storytelly giving practical demonstrations on Comic Life, Story Life, and Garageband.
