Avid AssistanceTomorrow in class we will be reviewing Assignment 2 (Insurance Companies / Broker Analysis). Files have been uploaded to Box.net (which can be located via the Business page in the Insurance folder).
These give examples of sources of information and what is required for this assignment. We will also be discussing the assignment at some length tomorrow in the lecture.
This friday is the deadline for registration for the LIT Film Festival all forms must be fully completed and returned to Mark Griffin no later than 11:00am on Friday 26th February.

Job Description: Internship/Work Experience position
5 days /week
We are in a position to take on one new full time intern for work experience.
The ideal candidate will have a higher degree in journalism or media studies and is looking for practical experience in a small but busy television production company. We are looking for someone that is eager to prove themselves in the television production environment and hopefully help to create a longer term role within our small company.
Role: Production Researcher on current series, development researcher for new series proposals, Producers assistant, Archive research and production assistant
Skills and Eduction: Applicant must have at least a Higher degree in Journalism, Communications, Media studies or equivalent.
Good research skills and a nose for a good story are needed, as well as very good writing and communication skills essential.
Above all the applicant must be self motivated for a career in television as well as being organized and diligent.
Please don’t apply if you don’t fit with all of the above.
Other technical skills would be an advantage but not essential: Final Cut Pro, Apple/Mac Competent, Camera and location sound knowledge.
Duration: 5 day /week (3-6 months approx)
Pay – Per diem of €40/day + any additional expenses

Galway Film Centre is now receiving applications for the 2010 RTÉ/GFC Short Film Awards.
The awards will be given to the two best original scripts for a short drama. Designed to
promote filmmaking throughout the regions, the scheme, funded by RTÉ, is open to
filmmakers from all over Ireland. The winners will receive a production fund of
€9,500 each, as well as the use of facilities fromthe Galway Film Centre.
The winning films will be screened twice by RTÉ.
Only one script per applicant is acceptable so please submit your strongest choice
and all applicants mustbe members of the Galway Film Centre.
If you think you have a good idea for a short film
then now is the time to submit your script.
The closing dates for applications is
5pm Friday 26th February 2010
