Applebites ReturnsFollowing months of planning and preparation Limerick’s Got Talent 2010 is ready to take to the stage.

The competition which is in its second year gives previously unknown singers, dancers, bands and variety acts an opportunity to display their talents to a live audience and a celebrity panel of judges.
Show producer Mike O’Connor tells us “We have had great interest in this years show with forty applications to hand which we have allocated spots on our heats which run over three nights from Tues 17th to Thurs 19th August at Punch’s Hotel. Each night three winners will be chosen by the judges with the audience choosing one act to join them in the Grand Final on Friday 20th August”.
Prizes for the competition include €500.00 for the winner, an Applebox Media Promotional DVD, plus the Jeff Power memorial trophy with the runner-up receiving €100.00 Photographic portfolio from Morning Star Photography and a trophy. There will also be a special prize for the best entertainment act from PJR Services.
Tickets for the shows are now available from RK Entertainment, Parnell St, at Punch’s Hotel reception or from Mike O’Connor 0851367594, reasonably priced at €5.00 for Adults & €3.00 children under 12 for the heats with the Grand Final costing €10.00 for Adults and €5.00 for children. All proceeds for this year’s project will go to the MS Society, Limerick who will be helping with front of house duties for the week.
The shows will commence each evening from 7.45pm with doors open at 7.15pm, full bar service will be available

Applebites returns to the streets of LimerickProduction is under way on a new short film written by Applebox Media’s Simon McGuire and Actor Francis Ryan. Filming will take place over the coming months at multiple locations around Limerick City and County.
Last week saw the first scene shot with Francis and Nigel Mercier getting a feel for their characters and the script.
It is being shot on HDV 25p/720p and post production on Avid Media Composer.

Job Description:
The Jameson Dublin International Film Festival, one of Dublin’s leading arts organisations, is looking for a Festival Administrator/Office Manager for a 6 month contract from mid September 2010 to work with the festival core team on the preparations for the 2011 JDIFF event.
As well as providing excellent administrative support to the festival office with superior computer and organisational skills, the candidate will be required to perform reception and office management duties alongside their administrative role.
Candidates must be team players and willing to work flexible hours. An interest in film is an advantage to potential candidates, but prior experience is a must. The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role, and a prior knowledge of festival administration is highly desirable. Excellent knowledge of Word and Excel is a pre-requisite for all candidates.
